The Cowardly Lion Meets ACG/SMART Grants

Session Description:
Yes, we know that it was the Scarecrow who wanted a brain while the Cowardly Lion asked for courage. However, it seems to take both brains and courage to administer the ACG and SMART Grants…and a little heart doesn’t hurt either! This session will cover the ever changing rules regarding academic year progression, transfer credits, GPA, eligible majors and a whole host of other hot topics that seem to challenge even the brightest and most courageous among us.

Everyday Leadership

Session Description:
There is a big difference between Leadership and Management. During this session we will develop a working definition for both roles and provide a working model that will help you establish the foundation for your own Leadership development. We will uncover leadership “ah ha’s” and will challenge everyone in attendance to understand their team, their preferred leadership style, and an “Everyday Leadership” plan for their office. This will be a working session so please come prepared to contribute to your future.

Non-Traditional Families in the World of Financial Aid

Session Description:
Family Structure today is more fluid and non-traditional than a generation ago. High School counselors and college financial aid staff are faced with defining today’s complicated family structures. Who should contribute? Who is contributing? To whom do we communicate? We invite you to come to this session ready to share your thorniest story, how you handled the situation or wish that you had. The session will be interactive and focus on the issues we face and the approaches used.
