Community Service

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has a broadening mission to enhance the quality of life by education, promotion, encouragement and aide to those of all ages in the appreciation of reading and literature, making a positive impact on literacy.

One of their noteworthy programs to date is the Bookbag Program which is an initiative that provides families with bookbags on loan filled with quality children's books appropriate for children from age 3 up through 6th grade reading levels. Each bag is filled with age appropriate books for children to share with their families. They now have three different reading level bookbags with varying number of books at each level. The bookbags are currently distributed through public schools, public town libraries throughout Mount Washington Valley, as well as coordinating exposure in local pre-schools. They currently have programs in Bartlett/Jackson, Conway, Madison and Freedom.

All conference members are encouraged to donate any dollar amount to help fund this gracious endeavor to provide every child with books for literacy development. Currency is the only form of donation accepted due to the book selections by the Literacy Foundation.
